Born in Derby in 1946 David is a self-taught artist with a Naval background. Having served in both the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines he was constantly inspired by far flung places, in particular the stunning skies of the Far East. He would often entertain the troops by sketching comical figures and cartoons and this is where his love for art began to develop.
His style is raw, organic and powerful and the passion, knowledge and connection he has with his marine subjects is very apparent in his work.
David Chamber’s paintings can be found in private art collections across the world and now Driftwood are delighted to represent his talent in their galleries throughout the South West.
