Sal

Salyistrie, or Sally, or Sal, is an Indonesian artist, who moved from her native West Java to the bustling island of Bali to make her living through her wonderful oil paintings. Specialising in her seascapes of waves I met her when I was living and working in Denpasar.

Her work is extremely meticulous, intricate and vivid. Her ability to capture the realism and depth of the ocean is astounding. Her original oil paintings as seen here are quite mesmerising, working from the shore, she captures her natural surroundings and the wonderful waves that Indonesia has to offer.
