Stephanie Leschenko

Stephanie is one of the youngest in a line of artists and musicians. Her family of Romanian origin has links to the late composer and singer Pjotr Leschenko.

Stephanie was born in 1975 and graduated from Canterbury Christchurch University in 1996 with a BA Hon’s degree in Art & English. Whilst studying she developed a flair for painting with oil and acrylic mediums.

She paints using a simple colour palette, which creates striking textured images, which are rich in tone and density. This is demonstrated best in her current work on the icons of the 20th century. Images of stars such as Audrey Hepburn, James Dean, Elvis and Madonna are stunningly represented in monochrome or sepia effect.
